Research Local Art Galleries/Museums

This is going to be an intuitive approach and a rather unique thing I will do in order to learn more about Miami’s local art scene. I basically took a screen picture of a google map after querying “Galleries Miami, Fl”.

The following is a list of questions I will be asking myself to further learn about these galleries/museums.

1. What kind of art do they showcase?
2. Do they exhibit local artist or international only?
3. Do they have a permanent collection, or are they currently seeking entries?

Juan Valdes

Juan Valdes currently resides in Miami, Florida. He was born in Havana, Cuba where he studied painting for 15 years. At the age of 18 he took art courses at “La Quinta de Los Molinos” school of arts. The institution taught young Valdes various art techniques: acrylic, oils, watercolor, and even pluma de carbon (A paint technique using black indian ink on paper). During his early to late twenties, Valdes served as an apprentice in the workshop of a renown cuban artist named Roberto Volayer. It was in his workshop that Valdes produced and painted using the style of surrealism.

Meet Juan Valdes

I am currently managing the idealistic, charismatic, and the always hard working painter named Juan Valdes. I met Juan Valdes in the summer of 2005, after sharing many common interest ranging from painting-artist we liked.
